Welcome to the Beginner Bass Fisherman. This site is dedicated to those who are new or relatively new to the sport of fishing for bass.
I have been fishing for well over 60 years and have been bass fishing for over 45 years. I am certainly not a pro or even close to that level. But I love fishing for bass and enjoy teaching others the ins and outs of the sport.
The reason I started this blog and the BeginnerBassFisherman.com website is that while there is a huge amount of information available on bass fishing, most is not focused on someone who is just starting out. Maybe you are just getting into the sport or maybe you have been at it for a couple of years. If so, this blog and our website are for you.
We will attempt to cover all the basics from equipment, lures, techniques and even knot tying. We will guide you on purchasing your equipment and even help you pick the right rod and reel for your child if you want to get them involved. Learn when to use spinning, baitcasting o r even spincast equipment. Learn the correct line and line size to use. The best knots for different situations and line types. Learn to choose and fish crankbaits, spinnerbaits, bladed jigs, swim baits, worms, jigs and topwater.
We will also get into depth on how various hooks, weights and rigging to fish texas rigs, ned rigs, drop shots, Carolina rigs, wacky rigs and neki rigs and others. Also how to tie these rigs and when and where to fish them.
One of the things that make bass fishing fun and interesting is that everything changes from day to day and sometimes from hour to hour. It’s a constant challenge to figure out where the fish are and what will make them bite.
Make sure you bookmark our blog (this website) and our BeginnerBassFisherman.com website where we have tons of video, articles and helpful information.
